About FitDex
FitDex brings calorie and water tracking, workout logging and photo-based meal analysis together in a single Android app. The calculators on this site run the same formulas: the number you see before you install is the number you see afterwards.
Product
There is one product live on Google Play: FitDex, for Android 8.0 and above, in five languages. Calorie, water and workout logging are unlimited in the free version; the AI features (photo analysis, coach chat, diet plan) run on one daily allowance in the free version, and an optional subscription removes that limit.
Current pricing and trial length vary by country, so they are on Google Play rather than here. Photos sent for analysis are not stored.

Developer
FitDex is built by Doğan Varkan: the same person who writes the app, runs this site and answers the email. There is no support layer in between, so every message you send reaches the person who makes the product.
How we calculate
The calculators on this site use published formulas, and every page states on itself which one it uses.
- The formulas we use: Mifflin-St Jeor for basal metabolic rate, Deurenberg for body fat percentage, MET values for exercise and steps, and the World Health Organization cut-offs for body mass index bands.
- The formulas we do not use, and why: Harris-Benedict was derived in 1919 from a leaner population than today's and overestimates resting expenditure. We also skip the US Navy tape method; a 2 cm error at the waist — routine when you measure yourself at home — shifts the result by roughly 1.5 points, cancelling out the accuracy it was meant to add.
- The margin of error is stated, not rounded away: Mifflin-St Jeor is off by roughly ±10% in healthy adults.
- The food data comes from the USDA SR Legacy database.
We do not publish a number we cannot verify: you will not find a user count, a star rating or a testimonial anywhere on this site. The calculators give an estimate, not medical advice, and every page says so on itself.
If you have a question, feedback or a data request, you can write directly.
